I believe you need two types of cameras. A smartphone and a digital camera like Sony, Canon, or Nikon. Personally, we have always used the latest iPhone but Androids have great cameras too. Buying into a digital camera family is really personal but we love Canon and Sony. Our best advice is to decide if the camera will be for recording video, taking photos, or doing both photos and videos. This will help you decide on what camera to buy.
You need at least 2 tripods. One for when you are at home and a traveling tripod. You could also buy a car tripod if you make videos in the car. And if you have a videographer on your team, you don’t even need to invest in a tripod.
You might need 2 different tripods. One small one and a big ring light if you are filming YouTube videos or taking photos.
If you already have an iPhone the next two things you absolutely need are a microphone and tripod. If you are filming in daylight you really don’t need a ring light but a microphone is essential. If you don’t get anything else from this list, get a microphone.
Content planners are great if you have a team. That way everyone knows what they are working on. But you need a content planner for your long-form content like a blog, podcast, or YouTube. Then another content calendar for social media. The biggest three tools are Google Workspace, Notion, and Airtable. Personally, we love Notion for personal and life organization and Airtable for business and content organization.
Every content creator has Canva in their toolkit. Whether you are creating Pinterest pins, Reel graphics, blog banners, email banners, or email freebie guides.
