Ok cutie – picture this: you see content creators making money online and you want to do the same thing, so you’ve created a few videos and now you are wondering, how to be consistent with content. And one big reason why creating consistent content is important is because it helps drive engagement and sales online. Here are some tips to help you today!
You might have a blog, email list, podcast, or YouTube channel, and well it’s a lot to manage.
One thing about long-form content is that it is one of the highest-converting forms of content for a lot of businesses. Think Alex Hormozi who has an impactful YouTube channel, Call Your Daddy podcast which features hour-long podcast episodes. So because long-form content is a huge driver for sales and leads, take the time to plan this out. Now if you are a website designer, you can write four blogs for the month about fonts. This makes it super easy to put more effort into your long-form content plus you have a key focus.
Social media relies on trends and pop culture so you don’t need to pressure yourself to plan a month’s worth of social media content. It is often better to post a trendy lip sync or meme when it is new than a trend that is 10 weeks old because at that point people will get tired of it.
Instead, create 3 social media content posts per week so that it’s not too much and it is better than not posting at all. You can create all 3 weekly posts on a Monday or create short posts daily.
Investing more time into your long-form content will give you the best ROI.
Our formula would be one post that is on trend/meme-worthy and easy to share on social media, one that talks about any promotions, and one about your brand/lifestyle. This ensures that posts will boost engagement and drive traffic to your offers from social.
Writing out your content ideas will help you streamline all your ideas in one place that way you can stay consistent. So whether you plan on writing them down in notebook, Google Sheets, Google Calendar, Notion, or Canva document, it doesn’t matter. Sometimes you need to put all your ideas in one place so they aren’t just racing in your head 24/7. Because there’s nothing worse than when you have all these ideas and then you don’t know which ones to pursue or you just feel overwhelmed that you don’t even end up doing anything.
Personally for us, when we have a content idea while scrolling online we will write it down in either the Notes app or Reminders app. That way it’s not just floating in our heads and then when it comes to filming day we don’t forget all the ideas.
Then we will add the idea to our Google Sheets, write out our key points, and determine if the next steps are to record a video for Instagram or write it in a carousel post.
The best way to be consistent with content is to time block and break down the tasks into different categories. The categories are idea, filming, and editing. You can do this by creating a Google Calendar reminder or an example would be deciding that “Hey every Monday at 9 am is the time to write out content ideas.” Then Tuesday is content filming day, and Wednesday is content editing day. but the best thing is to time-block the tasks so you don’t feel overwhelmed.
We hope all these tips were helpful and you can put these tips into action!
